Green Retreats began trading in July 2008 after Richard and Chris had been working in the industry for a total of 22 years. During this time, they gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise and after trading successfully as a Partnership for seven years and having built up an excellent reputation, it became a Limited Company in 2015.
We are fully skilled in Paving, block paving, brickwork, fencing, decking, soft landscaping and water feature construction
Richard began landscaping as a labourer after a career in forestry. He worked his way up to senior team leader (winning a BALI award along the way) before taking the plunge to set up Green Retreats with Dee and Chris.
As the years have progressed Richard has taken on the design role as well as construction and now heads the West sussex division of Green Retreats.
Aside from work, Richard is a family man and a keen runner.
Chris joined Sparsholt College from school studying Horticulture. After successfully completing the course he joined a large domestic Landscaping company, initially as a maintenance operative then latterly as a Landscaper. As a result of this Chris has extensive knowledge of plants and their care.
Chris is also a family man with a love of mountain biking and Gran Prix
Supporting Richard and Chris behind the scenes is Dee, who has many years of Office and Facilities Management experience and deals with all the administrative matters.
Dee also has extensive plant knowledge as a keen gardener and provides great input into the design side of things.
